I found these Tar Heel soldiers buried in the Marietta Cemetery during my recent trip to Georgia. These Tar Heels died at the old soldiers home in Marietta.
My name is Vaughn S Brubaker. My grandfather is Ruffin V Collie. He is a Civil War Vet and is burried in Franklin County in the cemetary at Cypress Chapel Baptist Church. I don't know if this info is useful to anyone, but there it is.
I am Carl Vann Rich. Ruffin Van Collie was my great grandfather. He lived to be 107 years old. I am 70 years old and he died when I was 12 years old. I often visited at his home and remember the birthday events after world war II. I know he often attended the war reunions. My father was Ruffin Van Rich. We lived on farms about 5 miles apart.
